## Repair or replace?

Most modern bumpers are a painted plastic cover over a metal or composite reinforcement bar. Whether we repair or replace the cover depends on the damage:

- **Usually repairable:** scuffs, scratches, small cracks, shallow dents and minor tears away from the mounting points.
- **Usually replaced:** large tears, many cracks, broken mounting tabs, and covers that are badly distorted.

We will tell you which way we recommend and why. Repair keeps costs down when it will hold up; replacement is the better call when a repaired cover would not fit or last.

## What is behind the bumper matters

Even a bump that only scuffs the cover can crack the brackets or crush the foam absorber behind it. A harder hit can bend the reinforcement bar. Many vehicles also have parking sensors or other sensors in or behind the bumper. We check all of it, because a new cover over a damaged bracket will sag or sit crooked.

## Matching the paint
